Hearing Aid Repairs
There is a $175 fee for a hearing aid repair, which includes repair and replacement of defective electronic components, cleaning and testing of all components, shipping, and a one year repair warranty. There are no extra fees for digital or programmable hearing aids. We repair all brands, regardless of age.
In most cases the total fee for restoration of your hearing aid will be $175. There are a few case in which there will be an additional fee. If this is the case we will contact you before performing the service.
Some situations which would require an additional fee are:
Circuit Board Replacement:
There is a $100 fee If the circuit board needs replacement.
Faceplate Replacement ("In The Ear" models):
There is a $50 fee if the faceplate, which contains the battery compartment, needs replacement.
Hearing Aid Re-casing
One of the most common complaints about hearing aids is feedback, which can sound like anything from a chirp to a constant hum. Not only can feedback negatively impact the effectiveness of your hearing aids, but it can also be a cause of needless embarrassment.
Most often feedback is due to a poor fit and can be solved by a new mold. This process is sometimes referred to as re-casing, or re-making the hearing aid.
The hearing aid mold may have started with a good fit when it was purchased, but our ears continue to change with time, and even with weight changes.
If your hearing aid needs to be re-cased, the fee is $275. This includes shipping, repairs to the electronic components, and a twelve month warranty.
In order to re-case a custom hearing aid, we will need an impression of your ear. We have audiologists and dispensers on staff who are able to take impressions.
If you are one of our out of state, or international customers, you can see your local hearing professional to have impressions made.
Hearing Aid Programming
The fee for any type of programming is waived if requested at time of repair or re-case. Otherwise the fee is $50 for one aid, or $75 for two aids.
When requesting programming it is sometimes necessary, but always helpful, for us to have a copy of your most recent audiogram.
48 Hour Rush Service
48 hour rush service is available on repair orders for a $27.50 fee. With this service, your hearing aid is repaired and shipped back to you within two business days from the day we receive it.
For example, if we receive your hearing aid on a Tuesday, it will be shipped back to you by Thursday. If it is received on a Friday, it will ship Tuesday.
Express Mail Shipping
USPS Priority Mail return shipping is included with all repairs and re-cases; delivery time for Priority Mail is 3-4 days.
You also have the option of upgrading the shipping method to Express Mail for a fee of $23. Express Mail comes with a tracking number and 1-2 day delivery time.
BTE Ear Molds - Hard or Soft
When ordering custom earmolds for Behind The Ear hearing aids, you have the option of a soft or hard material. Our fees are $75 per earmold for hard material, or $100 per earmold for soft material.
There are some advantages to using soft material, such as, increased effectiveness against feedback, and increased comfort. If you have previously experienced any problems in these areas, using the soft material may be beneficial.
